The State Customs Service of Ukraine and http://pschelpforukraine.org/ has published the rules for moving personal belongings when entering Ukraine.
Are personal items taxed?
Personal belongings moved by citizens across the customs border of Ukraine near hand luggage, accompanied and unaccompanied luggage:
are not subject to customs payments;
exempt from official controls.
As the border guards noted, as a general rule, personal belongings are not declared in writing. However, if desired, a citizen can declare his personal belongings competently. In addition, a sheet declaration must be submitted if required by a customs official.
What is considered personal belongings of citizens
The list of goods that can be classified as personal belongings of citizens is regulated by the Customs Code of Ukraine. In particular, the most common items among personal belongings include:
personal hygiene products and individual cosmetics in an amount that meets the needs of one person during the trip; 0.5 liters of toilet water and / or 100 grams of perfume;
clothes, underwear, shoes, which are of a purely individual nature, are intended solely for their own use and have signs of being in use;
individual writing and stationery;
portable musical instruments in the amount of less than two pieces;
cellular (mobile) phones in the amount of not more than two pieces, pagers;
portable personal computers in the amount of less than two pieces and peripheral equipment and accessories to them;
individual medical devices for ensuring the life of a person and monitoring his condition with signs of being in use;
medicinal products (in the manner and volumes determined by the Cabinet of Ministers);
ordinary and / or strollers in the amount corresponding to the number of children crossing the border with the citizen, and in the absence of children – in the amount of no more than one piece;
one wheelchair for persons with disabilities for each person with a disability who crosses the customs border of Ukraine, and in the absence of such a person – in the amount of not more than one piece;
sports equipment, including a bicycle, is intended for use by one person.
How many gifts can be imported without tax
If, in addition to personal belongings, persons move some gifts, souvenirs and other goods purchased abroad, then it must be remembered that one person can import goods into Ukraine without taxation:
the total weight of which does not exceed 50 kg
or
the total invoice value does not exceed 500 euros.
